Weather Situation: A large, slow moving high pressure system in the Tasman Sea extends a firm ridge along the Queensland coast, which will remain in place over the coming days. A broad area of low pressure over the northern interior of the continent will remain slow moving. This setup will lead to tropical moisture extending through much of northern, central and western Queensland over the next few days. A series of upper troughs will maintain unstable conditions across much of the state through the week.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 22 November Partly cloudy. Slight (30%) chance of showers early this evening. The chance of thunderstorms early this evening, with possible heavy falls in the north. Winds easterly 15 to 25 km/h becoming light in the evening.

Forecast for Thursday 23 November Partly cloudy. Medium (50%) chance of showers, most likely in the late morning and afternoon. The chance of thunderstorms from the late morning. Light winds becoming easterly 15 to 25 km/h in the morning then becoming light in the late evening. Overnight temperatures falling to between 17 and 21 with daytime temperatures reaching around 30.
