Herbert and the Lower Burdekin Forecast

Weather Situation: Ex-tropical cyclone Debbie is currently located over the central interior of Queensland and is expected to slowly track southeastwards over the next few days before shifting off the southeast Queensland coast during Thursday night into Friday. The system is then expected to develop further off the southeast coast during Friday with gale force winds likely to develop through southern coast waters. A ridge will build through western Queensland through Thursday and Friday, extending drier and cooler air into much of the west of the state. This ridge will build through much of Queensland over the weekend with fine and mostly sunny conditions developing over much of the state.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 29 March Cloudy. Very high (95%) chance of patchy rain in the south, medium (60%) chance elsewhere. The chance of a thunderstorm. Winds west to northwesterly 25 to 40 km/h decreasing to 20 to 30 km/h in the morning then tending north to northwesterly 15 to 25 km/h in the late afternoon. Daytime maximum temperatures around 30.
