"Night of Noah" - Townsville floods of 1998
The "Night of Noah", January 10th 1998, is remembered by many who lived in Townsville during this time.
More than 550mm of rain fell in 24 hours, the largest downpour in the city’s history. It caused one death, washed eight homes into the sea and left a $40 million damage bill.
